After my husband I decided to get out of debt, I began looking for ways to lower our expenses. I started with things like unnecessary bills and food, but eventually found myself taking a hard look at how much we were spending on health care.
Being the daughter of an herb farmer, you’d think I would have come to natural health sooner. But I’m pretty stubborn and need to figure things out in my own time, so it took a while.
Eventually, though, I started looking into natural health. And the more I learned, the more passionate I became about using God-given resources to keep my family healthy.
Natural Health Works
I am a walking advertisement for natural health. I was not a healthy child – I had Ricketts and scarlet fever, people.
In my early twenties, I was sick all. the. time. My husband got so tired of hearing, “I don’t feel well.” And so did I.
When I began treating myself and my family naturally, some things went away almost instantly. Others faded gradually. Now, I rarely say, “I don’t fell well.” And when I do, I know what essential oils I need to use or what food I should add to my diet (or remove).
It works. Feeling great should be the norm, not the exception.
Natural Health is Simple
I’m a busy woman. Even though we’ve dramatically simplified our life, I still have four kids to homeschool and a business to run. Not to mention other things that I deal with on a daily basis. I just don’t have time to do complicated things.
Which is why I love natural health. For me, taking care of my family naturally means preparing nourishing whole foods and using essential oils on a daily basis. When we (rarely) get sick, I know what herbs, foods and essential oils I need to use and just blend those into our routine.
Natural health doesn’t need to be complicated.
Natural Health is Empowering
Do you know what feels great? Noticing that you’re body is on the verge of a urinary tract infection (I made the mistake of not drinking enough fluids and holding it for way too long while I was at a convention) and knowing exactly what to do for it. The same can be said for a number of ailments, like ear infections, upset tummies, the flu.
Because the more you learn about natural health and the more you use it, the more empowered and intuitive you become when it comes to taking care of your family’s health. It’s an awesome feeling, mamas (and dads).
Natural Health Saves Money
I read a couple months ago that the average person in the United States spends just over $2100 on healthcare each year. This made me curious, because I knew that that’s nowhere near the amount we spend.
So I did some math and discovered that our entire family of 6 spends the same amount as the average person. That’s quite a difference!
Natural Health Helps Your Body Heal Itself
I firmly believe that our bodies have the powerful ability to heal themselves. Unfortunately, they’re often hindered by things like harmful chemicals, nutrient-depleting foods and poor habits that drain us, rather than sustain us.
Natural health works with your body.
Real food, herbs and essential oils offer a complex solution that help your body work optimally. I’ve seen this in myself, my family and in numerous friends who have switched over to a holistic, natural approach to health. Your body knows what to do – you just have to give it the right tools.
